Kirloskar Electric applies for further extension in partial lay-off of Govenahalli unit workmen; stock drops 2.5%

This is the third time, the company is seeking extension from the labour department after first getting partial lay-off approval from June 15, 2020.

Kirloskar Electric Company Limited has made an application to the concerned labour department to extend the partial lay-off of the workmen of company’s Unit located at Govenahalli (Unit-1), Bangalore for a period of 60 days, with effect from November 20, 2020.

This is the third time, the company is seeking extension from the labour department in partial lay off of its workers after first getting approval for the same with effect from June 15, 2020.

The company had also laid off its workmen at the Hirehalli, Tumkur and Budihyal plants from June 12, 2020, as a temporary arrangement. The company had been struggling to resume normal business due to Covid-19 pandemic.

At around 3.17 pm, Kirloskar Electric Company Ltd was trading at Rs11.67 per piece down by Rs0.29 or 2.42% from its previous closing of Rs11.96 per piece on the BSE.
