Stock market update: BSE Consumer Durables index surges 600 points! Titan climbs 4%

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE Consumer Durables stocks were trading on a positive note at 01:18PM (IST) on Thursday.

Shares of Titan Company Ltd (up 4.09 per cent), Orient Electric (up 3.3 per cent), Blue Star (up 2.2 per cent), Voltas (up 1.0 per cent) and Whirlpool of India (up 0.83 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While TTK Prestige (down 0.89 per cent) and Rajesh Exports (down 0.59 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE Consumer Durables index was trading 2.32 per cent up at 26375.15 around 01:18PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 12.30 points at 12925.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 61.67 points at 44118.38.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, BHEL and Spicejet were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Tata Chemicals, India Cements, Tanla Solutions, Redington and SRF hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Terrascope Ventures Ltd., Pazel International Ltd., Neil Industries Ltd., Jump Networks Ltd., Suncare Traders Ltd., CLIO Infotech Ltd., NMS Resources Global Ltd., Radix Industries (India) Ltd., Shree Rajeshwaranand Paper Mills Ltd. and Fervent Synergies Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
