NIA searches 43 places in east Bengaluru violence case

BENGALURU: National Investigation Agency sleuths conducted searches at 43 places, including the four offices of Social Democratic Party of India, in connection with its probe related to the August 11 east Bengaluru violence. SDPI is the political wing of Popular Front of India.
So far, 293 suspects have been arrested for the riots in DJ Halli and KG Halli.
The cases pertain to largescale rioting with lethal weapons, causing injuries to police personnel, destruction of public and private properties, including DJ Halli and KG Halli police stations and public and private vehicles.
During the searches on Wednesday, “incriminating material relating to SDPI/ PFI as well as certain instruments for attacks like sword, knife, iron rods, etc were seized,” an NIA release said.
Among the recoveries made were an airgun, pellets, sharp weapons, iron rods, digital devices, DVRs and SDPI and PFI-related documents and material.
