Warangal Rural: Documentary raises awareness on child issues

Warangal Rural: A documentary aimed at creating awareness among children and society at large was filmed by Infonine Cyber Media Private limited, Hyderabad, in association with District Child Protection Unit of Department of Women, Children, Disabled & Senior Citizens, on Wednesday and Thursday.

District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) G Mahender Reddy said the documentary focused on issues like safe and unsafe touch, child marriages, child trafficking and adolescent issues. District Collector M Haritha formally launched the shooting of the documentary named “Assurance to Childhood” on Wednesday.

She said the District Child Protection Unit of the Department of Women, Children, Disabled & Senior citizen played a key role in conducting sensitisation programmes to the adolescent girl children in the district. The programme, launched at Model School last July, continued till January and covered 14,000 children.

The documentary was filmed at Mariyapuram village of Geesugonda mandal, Kannaraopet and Buchhireddypalli villages of Nallabelli mandal.
