Tribal woman trampled to death by wild elephant near Coimbatore

COIMBATORE: A 70-year-old tribal woman was trampled to death by a wild elephant in Coimbatore forest division. S Maruthammal of Sarkar Porathi, who went missing two days ago, was found dead at Mullankadu beat of Boluvampatti forest range on Thursday morning.
Forest department personnel, who were on patrolling, found the body. The body was sent to the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital for postmortem.
Maruthammal’s daughter, Vijaya, 50, is living in Alandurai.
