Bangladesh: Eight farm workers killed in road accident

Dhaka, Nov 19 (UNI) At least eight farm workers were killed in a road accident on Thursday morning in Bangladesh's Chapainawabganj district, some 302 km northwest of capital Dhaka.
Mahbubul Alam Khan, additional superintendent of police told Xinhua news agency via mobile phone that the ill fated workers were returning to their village after harvesting paddy in a nearby district when they met the accident at about 0600 hrs local time.
He said eight workers were killed and three others injured when the local passenger vehicle overturned and fell into a ditch.
The workers were reportedly sitting on sacks of rice which they got as labor charge after harvesting paddy.
Khan said the cause of the accident was not immediately clear.
