Etihad Airways, El Al Israel sign MoU

Dubai, Nov 19 (UNI) The United Arab Emirates (UAE)'s Etihad Airways and Israel's flag carrier El Al have signed an agreement for joint codeshare service between Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv, the official WAM news agency reported on Thursday.
The two airlines will also have greater commercial cooperation in the fields of cargo, loyalty programmes and training facilities, Etihad Airways said here in a statement.
Etihad Airways announced earlier this week daily that service between Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv will start from March 28, 2021.
In addition to codeshare operations, both airlines will also share loyalty programmes.
According to the statement, teams at the Etihad Guest and the EL AL Matmid loyalty programmes will explore reciprocal "earn and burn" opportunities for its members, as well as other benefits.
The airlines' destination management teams will also collaborate to encourage reciprocal inbound tourism to Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv, it said.
