Amid farmers’ threat, BJP puts off functions in 10 Punjab districts

Chandigarh, November 18

After the farmers’ threat, the BJP has postponed the foundation stone-laying ceremony of 10 district offices, including in Barnala, Mansa, Sangrur and Bathinda.

BJP president JP Nadda was to lay the foundation virtually. Party state president Ashwani Sharma was to preside over the occasion. Punjab in charge Dushyant Kumar Gautam, co in charge Narinder Singh, national secretary Tarun Chugh, Union Minister of State Som Prakash were scheduled to participate in the ceremony.

Sukhdev Kokri, general secretary, BKU (Ugrahan) had said their protest against BJP would continue till the farm laws were rolled back. — TNS
