NEW DELHI: MidCap stocks were trading on a positive note at 01:29PM (IST) on Thursday.
Shares of Bharat Electronics (up 9.78 per cent), Bajaj Holdings & Investment (up 7.64 per cent), Future Retail (up 5.45 per cent), Bharat Heavy Electricals (up 3.16 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra Financial (up 3.07 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While Federal Bank (down 2.75 per cent), Aditya Birla Capital Ltd (down 2.17 per cent), Indian Hotels Company (down 1.77 per cent), RBL Bank (down 1.72 per cent) and Adani Transmissions (down 1.68 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 0.41 per cent up at 16410.5 around 01:29PM.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 42.25 points at 12896.0, while the BSE Sensex was down 173.23 points at 44006.82.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, BHEL and Spicejet were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Tata Chemicals, India Cements, Tanla Solutions, Navin Fluorine and Redington hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Terrascope Ventures Ltd., Pazel International Ltd., Neil Industries Ltd., Jump Networks Ltd., Suncare Traders Ltd., CLIO Infotech Ltd., NMS Resources Global Ltd., Radix Industries (India) Ltd., Shree Rajeshwaranand Paper Mills Ltd. and Fervent Synergies Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
