Akhilesh slams Yogi govt over rising crime against women

Samajwadi Party Chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday mounted a blistering attack on the Yogi Adityanath government over the rise of crime against women.
Akhilesh Yadav said that while the government was seemingly busy publicizing in programmes like ‘Mission Shakti’ and ‘Pink Booth’, women were being forced to commit suicide amid the rising crime-rate against women in the state.
In a tweet, Akhilesh said, “Disappointed with the increasing cases of rape, sexual harassment and molestation against women. Sisters and daughters are being forced to commit suicide in the BJP government and the government is busy in showy programs like ‘Mission Shakti’ and ‘Pink Booth’. Government should understand the pain of these families.”
Akhilesh Yadav further said that the BJP created propaganda about its schemes, but never bothered to ensure that they reached the grassroots levels.
“If the energy spent on publicity is diverted towards implementation, things would improve,” he said.
