Ceasefire violation

Meanwhile, the Pakistani Army violated the ceasefire agreement by opening fire on the forward posts and hamlets along the International Border in Hiranagar Sector in Jammu’s Kathua district on Wednesday.

An official said firing on the border outposts was reported from Satpal, Manyari, Karol Krishna and Gurnam areas around 9:10 p.m. on Tuesday and they stopped around 4.30 a.m. on Wednesday.

“An effective retaliation was mounted by the Border Security Force”, an official said.

There were no reports of any casualty in the firing.

Pakistan also violated ceasefire agreement in the Pir Panjal's Poonch on Wednesday evening.

An Army spokesman said Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and shelling mortars along the Line of Control in Poonch’s Shahpur and Kirni Sectors. “The Army retaliated in a befitting manner”, the spokesman added.
