MUMBAI: A junior engineer attached to the BMC’s K-West Ward was caught by the anticorruption bureau on Friday while allegedly accepting a Rs 2,000 bribe to grant a no-objection certificate for a new water connection.
ACB’s Mumbai unit has arrested Vaijnath Sapate (43) under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The complainant, a plumber, had recently applied for permission from the K-West Ward for a new water connection on behalf of local residents.
