Cold wave in HP, Keylong shivers at minus 7.6 C

Shimla, Nov 18 (UNI) Extremely cold winds blowing in the state, coupled with the plummeting of night temperature by a few notches, led to the arrival of bone-chilling cold in this hill state on Wednesay.
The minimum temperature of Keylong, headquarters of Lahaul Spiti, was recorded at minus 7.6 degree Celsius, coldest of this season and six degrees below normal.
Kalpa in Kinnuar was at minus 2.4 degrees, four degrees below normal, while tourist resort Manali registered 0.4 degrees, two degrees down from the normal.
Bhuntar in Kullu was at 2.6 degrees, Tourist resort Kufri registered three degrees, Solan four degrees, Palampur 4.5 degrees, Sundernagar in Mandi 4.7 degrees, Dalhousie in Chamba 4.8 degrees and Mandi recorded minimum temperature of five degrees.
This capital town recorded 5.8 degrees, two degrees below normal. Dharamshala registered 6.2 degrees, Kangra 6.8 degrees, Bilaspur and Chamba were at 7.4 degrees each, Hamirpur recorded 7.8 degrees, Una eight degrees and Nahan in Sirmaur district 11.5 degrees.
The Met Office has forecast rain or snowfall at the high reaches in isolated places in the next 24 hours and mainly dry weather in the rest of the state.
