    Stock market update: Nifty FMCG index sheds 1%; HUL drops 2%

    NEW DELHI: Nifty FMCG index was trading lower at 01:16PM (IST) on Wednesday.

    Shares of Hindustan Unilever (down 1.95 per cent), Colgate Palmolive (India) (down 1.56 per cent), ITC (down 1.52 per cent), Nestle India (down 1.25 per cent) and Marico (down 0.98 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

    While VBL (up 2.83 per cent), Jubilant Foodworks (up 1.13 per cent), United Breweries (up 0.32 per cent), Godrej Consumer Products (up 0.24 per cent) and United Spirits (up 0.19 per cent) were among the top gainers.

    The Nifty FMCG index was trading 1.14 per cent down at 30933.85 around 01:16PM.

    Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 23.50 points at 12850.7, while the BSE Sensex was down 63.96 points at 43888.75.

    Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red.

    Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, SBI and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

    Shares of Adani Gas Ltd., M&M, Hatsun Agro, Adani Transmission Ltd. and Tanla Solutions hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Jump Networks Ltd., SKIL Infrastructure Ltd. and Deep Energy Resources Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
