Looking back: South superstar Nayanthara's most stunning pictures for Vogue India

After a few months of enjoying a break during the pandemic-induced lockdown, Nayanthara is back to work, filming and promoting new projects—just in time for her 36th birthday. In 2019, in an exclusive interview with Vogue India, the actor made it clear that she loves keeping a full schedule. "I am always busy and shooting all the time. I am a workaholic," she shared. With multiple films in the pipeline, include Tamil movies Netrikaan and Annaatthe, and Malayalam movie Nizhal, Nayanthara is doing just that. 

The actor is not always the most active on social media, but posted a photo of herself just a few hours ago today to mark her birthday. “Apparently I am a age older,” she wrote. Her fiancé, Vignesh Shivan, also used the occasion of Nayanthara's birthday to treat her fans with a first look of Netrikaan's  teaser trailer, saying, “Happy birthday to you Thangameyyyy. Be the same inspiring, dedicated, sincere honest person that you are & keep flying.” While the couple spent his birthday holidaying in Goa, Nayanthara's birthday celebrations have reportedly been a more low-key affair. 

While Nayanthara prefers not to share much information with her fans on social media or in interviews, they'll be able to catch her on the silver screen in many different personas in the coming months. “I don’t want the world to know what I am thinking. I am a very private person. I’m not very good with crowds," she shared back in 2019. "My job is to act. The films should speak for themselves.” To mark her “first interview in 10 years”, the actor also took part in a cover shoot with actors, alongside Dulquer Salmaan and Mahesh Babu.
