Don't give importance to Maha Dy CM's statement on border issue: Somashekar

Mysuru, Nov 18 (UNI) Karnataka Minister for Cooperation S T Somashekar on Wednesday said that there is no need to give importance to the statements being made by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, with regards to the border row.

Speaking to reporters, Mr Somashekar said that such statements were made to woo voters in elections and were nothing more than that.
Mr Pawar in a statement on Tuesday had claimed that Belagavi, Nippani and Karwar belonged to Maharashtra.
He said that Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa will hold talks with leaders from the district and depute a minister to take responsibility of overseeing the suit filed by Maharashtra in the Supreme Court, regarding the Karnataka-Maharashtra border issue.
