Girl dies by suicide after police fails to acts on case

Bulandshahr, Nov 17 (UNI) In another case of police laxity in Uttar Pradesh, a girl, who was gang-raped by youths of the same village, died by suicide after police did not take action against the accused.

The girl was found hanging from the ceiling in her house under the Anupshahr Kotwali police station area on Monday evening.

Police sources said that the deceased, in her suicide note, alleged that the police was not ready to arrest the youths of her village, who had gangraped her. She named the three youths who were responsible for the crime and even demanded that a case should also be registered against the police for laxity.

The girl was kidnapped on October 16. On October 24, the girl along with her family members went to the police station and lodged an FIR against the accused. The girl also charged that the accused had made a video of her and were blackmailing her.

Though police lodged the FIR and did not take action against the culprits which led to the suicide of the victim.
However, after the suicide, police became active and arrested all the three accused-- Kamruddin, Abrar and Mubin.
SSP Santosh Kumar Singh said on Tuesday that police was investigating the case.
