COVID: J&K reports fresh 572 +ve cases, 7 deaths

Jammu, Nov 17 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday informed that 572 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus (191 from Jammu division and 381 from Kashmir division), have been reported thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 103581.
Also seven COVID-19 deaths have been reported; three from Jammu division and four from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 568 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 216 from Jammu Division and 352 from Kashmir Division.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), out of 103581 positive cases, 5585 are Active Positive, 96392 have recovered and 1604 have died; 541 in Jammu division and 1063 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 2677771 test results available, 2574190 samples have been tested as negative till November 17.
Till date 718065 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 24781 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5585 in isolation and 41623 in home surveillance.
Besides, 644472 persons have completed their surveillance period.

Woman thrashed by in-laws in full public view

Kangra, Nov 17 (UNI) A 38-year-old woman and mother of a 12-year-old boy has been allegedly thrashed by her in-laws in full public view at her residence in Abdullahpur, in the outskirts of this temple town.
According to police, the victim was identified as Manju Kumari. She got married to one Ajay Kumar, who is presently working in Qatar.
