Markets witnessed a strong day of trade with Nifty index closing at lifetime highs. Large cap stocks witnessed continued buying with banking stocks among the top outperformers.
Bank Nifty index outperformed the Nifty index by ~1.25% with both the indices closing higher by ~0.75%/2% gains. Nifty Midcap 100 index gained ~1%.
Market breadth ended in the favour of the advances with the advance/decline ratio closing at 1:1x. Nifty & Bank Nifty index saw an addition of long positions during the day.
On the options front (November 19, 2020 expiry), across the board option writing positions were formed in Nifty put options as the index trended higher. India Vix index closed higher at 19.8, up ~3.5%.
