Stock market update: BSE Capital Goods index gains over 2%; Adani Green jumps 5%

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE Capital Goods stocks were trading on a positive note at 01:21PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of Adani Green (up 4.94 per cent), Kalpataru Power Transmission (up 3.67 per cent), Carborundum Universal (up 3.4 per cent), Larsen & Toubro (up 2.92 per cent) and Grindwel Norton (up 2.72 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Lakshmi Machine Works (down 2.43 per cent), Schaeffler India (down 1.58 per cent), AIA Engineering (down 1.13 per cent), Graphite India (down 1.13 per cent) and Bharat Electronics (down 0.62 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE Capital Goods index was trading 2.35 per cent up at 16320.25 around 01:21PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 62.75 points at 12843.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 200.28 points at 43838.26.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tanla Solutions, Tata Motors and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Adani Gas Ltd., Astral Poly Tech, Tata Steel, Tanla Solutions and Adani Green Energy Ltd. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Pazel International Ltd., Real Touch Finance Ltd., Neil Industries Ltd., Madhusudan Securities Ltd., Blue Coast Hotels Ltd., Jump Networks Ltd., Meenakshi Enterprises Ltd., Gujchem Distillers India Ltd., Starlite Components Ltd. and Square Four Projects India Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
