B R Shetty prevented from boarding flight to Abudhabi

Bengaluru, Nov 16(UNI) In an attempt to travel out of the country, founder and former chairman of the embattled firms NMC Health and Finablr B R Shetty was prevented from boarding a flight scheduled to fly to Abudhabi, in the early hours on Saturday.
According to official sources, Shetty, who had allegedly defaulted from pay-off debts to couple of banking institutions in the country, was to board the Abudhabi bound Etihad Airlines in the early hours and the emigration officials present at the Kempegowda International Airport, did not permit him to leave the country.
However, the Airport authorities had allowed his wife to proceed on her journey, the sources said.
Earlier, Shetty had made public his desire to return to Abudhabi, where he was facing charges of heavy financial irregularities, which he had denied any of his involvement.
The Udupi-born Entrepreneur was reportedly not allowed to board the flight after an alert issued by a Central Agency to the immigration officers about his departure, the sources added.
