Ludhiana sees 63 fresh cases, 1 death

Ludhiana, November 15

Ludhiana district witnessed 95 fresh Covid cases yesterday while 64 more tested positive today.

One Covid death was also reported today. The number of patients on ventilator support stood at 11. The total number of positive patients from Ludhiana districts has now reached 21,404 and the death toll stands at 860. There are 743 active cases in the district.

A 74-year-old woman from Civil Lines, who was admitted to Deepak Hospital, succumbed to the virus today.

Of those tested positive in two days, 24 were contacts of Covid patients. Two healthcare workers and two pre-operative cases also tested positive while tracing of 18 people is still going on.

Deputy Commissioner Varinder Sharma said whenever the district administration and Health Department found out about any positive or suspected Covid case, their samples were immediately sent for testing.

He appealed to the residents to follow all directions of the Punjab Government and if they would stay indoors, they would not only stay save themselves but also contribute to keeping everyone around safe.

“People should not become careless. Everyone should wear a mask and wash hands regularly,” said Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Bagga.
