MLA Simarjeet Singh Bains plans march over river waters

Ludhiana, November 15

Lok Insaf Party (LIP) president and MLA Simarjeet Singh Bains would launch a “Punjab Adhikar Yatra” from Harike Pattan to secure the river waters of Punjab.

Addressing mediapersons here today, he said the yatra would cover a distance of 700 km, passing through 11 districts, and culminate at Chandigarh after three days and four nights.

A petition signed by 21 lakh Punjabis would be handed over to the ‘petition committee’ of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha demanding legislative protection of the river waters of the state, he added. — OC
