"Pack your bags and come," says Liz Biden, founder and owner of The Royal Portfolio, South Africa's most prestigious hotel collection, "because we're ready to give you the vacation of a lifetime."

South Africa has announced its immediate reopening to international visitors and The Royal Portfolio's iconic Royal Malewane safari lodge, La Residence in Franschhoek, Birkenhead House in Hermanus (all currently open to guests) and the breathtaking Silo Hotel in Cape Town (reopening on December 1) are readying to greet Americans once again. Americans do not require a visa for South Africa. All that is needed is proof of a negative Covid-19 PCR test, taken within 72 hours of departure from home. While South African Airways, Delta and United are resuming service between the U.S. and South Africa, many American visitors to South Africa also elect to fly via London, Amsterdam or other European cities. "The dream of a Christmas safari is alive again," says Liz Biden, "and South Africa is eager to welcome our American friends back to our glorious country."
