Germans should brace for another 4-5 months of severe measures to halt the rise in Covid infections and should not expect the current rules to be eased quickly, Economy Minister Peter Altmaier has said.
“We’re not out of the woods yet,” Altmaier said referring to infection numbers.
Germany has imposed a set of measures dubbed a “lockdown light” to rein in the second wave of the pandemic.
Meanwhile, Germany recorded 16,947 new cases, taking the tally to 7,90,503.
As many as 32,095 new cases surfaced in France where Catholics protested against curbs on Mass.
Russia reported 22,572 new cases, taking the tally to 19,25,825. — Agencies
