Lord Ayyappa temple opens, 1000 devotees will visit from this morning

The temple of Lord Ayyappa at Sabarimala in Kerala was opened to devotees on Sunday evening. However, special worship was not conducted in the temple on Sunday. Sources said that from Monday morning, devotees will be able to see Lord Ayyappa for the next two months.

In view of the Corona epidemic, the government's guidelines on infection during a pilgrimage lasting 62 days will be strictly followed. Only one thousand devotees will be allowed to visit in a day. Before the darshan, devotees will have to keep a negative report of the corona with them. Devotees will not be allowed to stay on the temple premises.

The Travancore Devasam Board (TDB), which oversees the temple management, said that in view of Corona, only 85,000 devotees will be able to see Lord Ayyappa this season. The state health department has arranged for the antigen test of the corona at various centers. AK Sudhir Nambuthiri, the Tantri of the Sabarimala temple, opened the doors of the temple and lit lamps in the temple.
