Soumitra Chatterjee passes away: PM Narendra Modi and Bollywood celebs mourn the loss of veteran actor

Bollywood fraternity, on November 15, came together to mourn the passing of celebrated Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee, who breathed his last at a Kolkata hospital at the age of 85. He had been put on life support since October as his condition only worsened. Now, remembering the Dadasaheb Phalke awardee, celebs like Rahul Bose, Manoj Bajpayee, Richa Chadha, filmmaker Onir and several others took to their social media handles to pay tribute to the thespian. Along with the film industry, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also condoled his death as he tweeted, 'Shri Soumitra Chatterjee’s death is a colossal loss to the world of cinema, cultural life of West Bengal and India. Through his works, he came to embody Bengali sensibilities, emotions and ethos. Anguished by his demise. Condolences to his family and admirers.'
