Legendary Bangla actor Soumitra Chatterjee passes away at 85

Veteran Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee who was in the ICU in a Kolkata hospital for more than 40 days has passed away. The 85-year-old Dadasaheb Phalke awardee breathed his last on Nov 15. He was one of the finest actors in India and he is known for his collaborations with Oscar-winning film director Satyajit Ray. The legendary actor had tested positive for coronavirus on October 5 and was immediately admitted to the hospital. As per the doctors, the condition of the legendary actor had been a matter of concern due to COVID-19 encephalopathy and his advanced age.
