AMBALA: The Haryana farmers associated with Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) (Charuni) on Sunday held a Kisan Panchayat (farmers’ meeting) at historic gurdwara at Mardon Sahib village in Ambala district to discuss strategy for their march towards Delhi starting from Shambhu border in Ambala on November 25, in protest against the Centre's three agri-marketing laws.
The meeting was held under the leadership of BKU Haryana (Charuni) Ambala district president Malkiat Singh Sahibpura and farmers of Ambala’s block I and II participated in the same.
BKU Haryana has given a call to carry out motorcycle rallies in all the blocks of Ambala district on November 19 and 21 and then carry out a march in their conveyances to Delhi on November 25, in their agitation against the government.
Malkiat said, “A meeting was called to appoint duties to the farmers under preparation for the paidal yatra to Delhi. We have annouced to take out motorcycle rallies from Mardon Sahib village on November 19, which will be carried out in villages of Barara block. The second motorcycle rally will start from Panjokhra Sahib on November 21 and it will be carried out in villages of Naraingarh block.”
Malkiat added that the motive of motorcycle rallies is to spread awareness among the farmers about the march to Delhi.
“The government has turned itself blind and deaf towards the farmers and it has passed the anti-people laws. We are carrying out the foot march so that this sleeping government can be awakened”, said BKU (Charuni) spokesman Rakesh Bains from Shahbad.
A large number of farmers from Ambala villages participated in the meeting.
