Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Union Home Minister Amit Shah had a meeting today, November 15 on the issue of rising COVID-19 cases in the city.
Soon after the meeting held at Home Minister Amit Shah's residence, Arvind Kejriwal said to the media that the central government has promised the Delhi government to provide 750 ICU beds at the DRDO COVID-19 centre.
He further said that COVID-19 cases in Delhi started to rise after October 20 and though there are ample number of beds for corona patients, the requirement is for ICU beds. He also said that the government is aiming at conducting one lakh covid tests daily.
Meanwhile, 41,000 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours in the country. India's COVID-19 count on Sunday (November 15) crossed the 88 lakh mark.
At 9:30 AM, the COVID-19 tally in the country had reached 88,14,579 cases, which included 4,79,216 active cases; 82,05,728 cured, discharged, or migrated patients, and 1,29,635 deaths.
According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, as many as 41,100 new COVID-19 cases and 447 deaths were reported in the country in the last 24 hours.
Delhi has reported 4,82,170 positive cases so far of which 4,30,195 patients have recovered and 7,519 patients have lost their lives due to the virus.
