They were comfortably outplayed and lost the match 30-13, but the Cheetahs did have at least one moment worth celebrating against the Stormers at Newlands on Saturday night.
And, unsurprisingly, it came as the result of a piece of 'Specmagic'.
Having collected the ball on his own 10m line in the 63rd minute with his side 20-6 down at the time, it looked like there was nothing on for Cheetahs wing Rosko Specman.
When it comes to Specman, though, there is always something on.
Two kicks ahead later, the former Blitzboks star found himself with the ball back in his hands and darting off towards the left corner.
Seemingly out of space, Specam then launched himself into the air in a desperate attempt to score.
Stormers wing Angelo Davids made the tackle, smashing Specman into touch, but somehow he managed to get the ball dotted down before any part of his body hit the ground to complete one of the tries of the Super Rugby Unlocked season so far.
It was an astonishing individual effort and evidence of why Specman comes as one of the most exciting players in South African rugby presently.
As Cheetahs captain Junior Pokomela said after the match: "That was a special try. Specman is a very talented guy ... I was really stoked for him."
Broadcasters SuperSport tweeted a video of the tey after the match, which you can watch below:
How on earth did Rosko Specman score that? ????

This is one of the best finishes you will see on a rugby field by the Toyota Cheetahs winger against the DHL Stormers.
