Children’s Day celebrated

Sacred Soul Convent Sr Sec School

Ludhiana: The school celebrated Children’s Day celebrated with enthusiasm. Students were told about the importance of the day. The main reason behind celebrating the day was to pay tribute to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India and improve the condition of children across the country.

Green Land Convent School

The school celebrated Diwali with great devoutness. The school was decorated with diyas and lights anticipating that the festival would bring joy and happiness in everyone’s life. The day started with a special virtual morning assembly. Students of pre-nursery to KG participated in diya and candle-decoration, thali-decoration and paper lantern-making activities. Students of classes IV to VIII participated in the toran making activity with zeal. Students were motivated to say no to firecrackers and use noble ways to celebrate Diwali.

BCM Arya School

The school organised a display board competition for teachers on the occasion of Diwali on the theme safe Diwali. All teacher in-charges from nursery to class VIII participated in it. Some students also contributed by sending decorative items from home. Various quotes and slogans for a happy, safe and Green Diwali were displayed on the boards. First three positions were bagged by Mansi Syal ,Meenakshi Narang and Preeti Thakur. Tawinder got the special award and consolation prizes were given to Mamta Pahwa and Rubinder Kaur. The winners were honoured by Principal Paramjit Kaur, management members Sanjay Khosla and Sudhir Syal.

GMT Public School

A ‘Lakshmi puja’ was organised at the school. Students, staff members and Principal Jasbir Kaur and Director Jasbir Singh Thind worshipped Goddess Lakshmi and wished everyone a very happy and for prosperous Diwali.

DCM Presidency School, Elementary

Enthusiastic mothers competed in a variety of offline and online activities such as rangoli-making, flameless cooking, Diwali sweet treat, Diwali decorations and capture family picture. Virtual group Dandiya dance and Antakshatri acted as the icing on the cake. Everyone was overwhelmed by the well-thought activities and lauded the DCM Group for providing them a platform to work in collaboration with the school. Speaking about the event Reuben Chahal, Head, Elementary, said such events strengthen the bond between the school and the parents.

Drishti Dr RC Jain Innovative School

Students celebrated Diwali while staying at home. The festival symbolises the victory of knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and light over darkness. Celebrating the festival enthusiastically, students learned many new things about their culture and traditions. They helped their parents in cleaning and decorating their homes. Students of the junior wing participated in candle and diya decorating as well as toran-making activities. Senior students made posters to convey the message of crackers and pollution-free Diwali. Students pledged to gift plants to their near and dear ones on this occasion. The school campus was also decorated using the trimmed leaves and flowers.

SDP Senior Secondary School

Children’s Day and Diwali were celebrated on the premises of the school. Students presented songs, poems and views on the life of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru. An online cartoon-making competition was conducted for the primary section. Samarpal, Sukha and Riyansh were declared as winners. In the online handwriting competition, Anshu, Piyush, Kukum were winners.

Green Land Sr Sec Public School

The school celebrated Diwali and organised rangoli and diya-candle decoration activity for students of grade I-V. In diya and candle-making activity, students put up their artistic acumen on display. Such events promote the cultural and rich traditions of the country among students. Senior students from classes IX to XII made rangolis and decorated the school campus.

Everest Public Sr Sec School

Students celebrated Diwali on the school premises while maintaining social distancing. Rajinder Sharma, Director, Everest Group of Schools, informed students about the importance of the day. They raised slogans such as “No Crackers–Save Money”, “Pathakhe Na Chalayen”, “Mithanion Se Diwali Manayain”, “No Crackers–Save environment” etc. The members of the different houses of the school have decided to monitor the pollution level on the Diwali Night and after it they will educate the children about the effect of pollution on the health. The students agreed to celebrate the Diwali peacefully and not make it a cause of pollution. The children agreed to give this message to at least five children in their neighbourhood.

SAV Jain Public School

The school celebrated Diwali and Children’s Day on the school campus in a virtual way. On the auspicious festival of Diwali, the staff members decorated the campus with rangolis and other artwork. Students participated in various activities such as diya and candle-making, stick puppets, Diwali posters with social message from their homes. Principal Manisha Talwar and members of managing committee appreciated the efforts of students and staff and wished all Happy and bright future for children. TNS
