Police distribute sweets among slum children in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, November 13

To help children living in slums, a drive under mission “Spreading Smiles this Diwali” was organised today along with Rotary Club, Ludhiana Greater.

During the drive, masks, chocolate packets, gems and stationery items, including a pencil box, colours, colouring books, notebooks, etc. were distributed among kids residing in slums situated near Pataka Market on Hambran Road, Ludhiana.

Bhagirath Singh Meena, Joint CP, Ludhiana, along with Madam Rupinder Kaur Sra, ADCP Special Branch, Sameer Verma, ADCP Zone-3, Ludhiana, gave the items to the children.

Amanpreet Singh Zonal President Rotary Club, Ludhiana and Advocate Rajinder Babbar Ludhiana Extended warm thanks to the police administration.

Commissioner of Police Rakesh Agrawal said the special message of the event was “This Diwali we stand with slum children to help them celebrate a happy and Covid-safe Diwali”. — TNS
