COVID-19: Toll in Bengal rises to 7,557, cases touch 4,24,675

Kolkata, Nov 14 (UNI) The COVID-19 toll in Bengal rose to 7,506 with the death of 51
persons on Thursday, while the tally touched 4,24,675 with 3,835 new confirmed cases.
According to the latest State Government Health bulletin, the active cases accounted
for 31,501, while the number of discharged cases stood at 3,85,617.
The percentage of discharged rose to 90.80 per cent.
The bulletin said the total number of samples tested stood at 51,36,012 with 44,312
tested in the past 24 hours.
While the city recorded the highest number of 2390 deaths so far, surrounding districts
of North 24 Parganas and Howrah came second and third respectively with 1756 and 798
fatalities.
South 24 Parganas accounted for 506 deaths, the toll in Hooghly stood at 363, Darjeeling
155, Paschim and Purba Midnapore 234 and 216 respectively, Malda 91, Murshidabad 105,
Nadia 189, Paschim Bardhaman 112, Purba Bardhaman 75, Jalpaiguri 107, Uttar Dinajpur 55,
Dakshin Dinajpur 55, Birbhum 62, Alipurduar 79, Kalimpong 19, Cooch Behar 57, Purulia 34,
Jhargram 13 and Bankura 83.
