Guv, CM extend Diwali greetings

Itanagar, Nov 14 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) BD Mishra and Chief Minister
Pema Khandu extended greetings to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of
Diwali.
In his message, the Governor said, “Diwali, the festival of lights inspires us to adopt truthfulness
and virtue. It lights the lamps of compassion, love, and righteousness amongst the human beings.
It gives us the inspiration to fight against all odds and move forward on the path of progress and success. Let us, on this Diwali, resolve to fight against illiteracy, inequality, poverty, discrimination,
and hatred. Let us promote peace and brotherhood in the society.”
He also appealed to everyone for a noise pollution-free Diwali celebration and eschew use of
loud crackers.
"I also call upon every citizen of our State to observe all protective protocols against
Covid-19 during the festival," the Governor said in his message.
Conveying his best wishes, Khandu in a message said, “Happiness spreads through sharing,
but this year, everyone needs to be extra careful with festivities and congregations to celebrate.
With the novel Coronavirus still looming large, let’s celebrate this year with a thought for those,
who are infected or are prone to infection due to old age and health issues. We also need to
think about our environment that gets affected every year due to excessive bursting of crackers
and lighting of lamps”.
As all the lights of the world cannot be compared even to a ray of the inner light of the self,
Khandu said, “ Best way to celebrate is to merge yourself in this inner light and enjoy the
festival of lights.”
