Train cancellations add to passengers’ woes in Ludhiana

As the agitation by farmers against the farm laws continues to gain pace all across the state, railways have further extended cancellation and partial-cancellation of various Covid-special and festival trains in the region till November 15-16.

Cancelled trains

Among the trains cancelled for next three days are 02425/26 NewDelhi-JammuTawi-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, 22439/40 NewDelhi-Katra-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express, 05211/12 Dibrugarh-Amritsar-Dibrugarh Express, 02461/62 New Delhi-Katra-NewDelhi Shri Shakti Express, 02011/12 NewDelhi-Kalka-New Delhi Shatabdi Express, 02053/54 Haridwar-Amritsar-Haridwar Janshatabdi Express, 02029/30 Amritsar-NewDelhi-Amritsar Swarn Shatabdi Express, 04651/52 Jaynagar-Amritsar-Jaynagar Humsafar Express.

No ‘Puja special’ trains

According to railway officials, festival and ‘Puja special’ trains 04655/56 Patna-Ferozepur-Patna Special Express, 02421/22 Ajmer-Jammu Tawi-Ajmer Special Express, 02231/32 Lucknow-Chandigarh-Lucknow Special Express, 04401/02 New Delhi-Katra-New Delhi Special express, 02331/32 Howrah-Jammu Tawi-Howrah Himgiri Special Express, 09611/12 and 09613/14 Ajmer-Amritsar-Ajmer Special Express and 02919/20 Ambedkar Nagar-Katra-Ambedkar Nagar Malwa Express would also remain cancelled during this period.

In addition, a dozen odd Covid-special trains bound for Amritsar, Ferozepur, Jammu Tawi would be partially canceled with most terminating and originating from Ambala Cantt and a few at New Delhi, Saharanpur and Meerut City till resumption of normal rail traffic in the region, said the officials.
