Bengaluru: Man held for faking seal on passport

BENGALURU: A 27-year-old man from Andhra Pradesh was arrested for allegedly tampering with the immigration seal of Mumbai airport on his passport and using it to fly to Tanzania.
Vemala Uttama Reddy of Anantapur was caught after he alighted from a Tanzania flight at Kempegowda International Airport. According to the FIR, officials noticed page number five of his passport bore an immigration stamp, saying he departed from Mumbai airport on August 18, 2017. However, that wasn’t reflecting in the immigration records. Similarly, page number 14 of his passport was tampered with a fake seal of Mumbai immigration.
Reddy has been remanded in police custody for four days.
