Mahurat Trading Closing Bell: Sensex up 195 pts, Nifty over 12,750; BPCL gains 5%, IOC, Tata Motors shine

All sectoral indices completed in the green with IT, pharma, oil and realty stocks being major gainers.

Indices closed on a bullish note during Mahurat trading closing bell on Saturday. Sensex ended at 43,637.98, up 194.98 points or 0.45%, while Nifty 50 finished near all-time high of 12,770.60, up 50.65 points or 0.40%.

In the Diwali Muhurat trading session, Sensex has also clocked a fresh record high of 43830.93.

On the BSE 22 scrips advanced while 5 declined. Nifty saw 35 advances and 15 declines.

Nifty small caps saw huge buying sentiment, while steady gains were also witnessed in mid caps and large caps.

All sectoral indices completed in the green with IT, pharma, oil and realty stocks being major gainers.

On Nifty 50, top gainers were - BPCL (+5%), IOC (+3%), followed by Tata Motors, HDFC Life and Sun Pharma up 2% each.

However, top underperformers were - Hindalco, Hero MotoCorp, JSW Steel, SBI and Bajaj Finance down 1% each.

In the Mahurat trading opening session,  Sensex was at 43,815.45 above 372.45 points or 0.86%. Nifty 50 surged by 103.40 points or 0.81% at 12,823.35.
