LUCKNOW: The health department will begin random Covid-19 sampling of passengers coming from Delhi and national capital region from Saturday.
Health officials have appealed such people to get themselves tested before coming to Lucknow or inform authorities voluntarily so that tests can be done.
The decision has been taken to check the second wave of the pandemic in the city in view of rising cases. Teams will be deployed with both antigen kit and RT-PRC kits at airport, railways and bus stations for sampling, said CMO Dr Sanjay Bhatnagar. Besides, teams will conduct doorto-door survey to track people coming to the city by road. “We appeal that those coming from NCR and Delhi region get themselves tested before coming,” Dr Bhatnagar added.
