Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed soldiers at Longewala Post in Rajasthan.

“I can’t stay away from my own on Diwali, that’s why I’m here with you,” the Prime Minister told the soldiers.

He also paid tributes to the valour of Brigadier Kuldip Singh Chandpuri, who sacrificed his life in the 1971 war against Pakistan. The Prime Minister said he became “rashtra deep”.

“The 1971 war against Pakistan is an example of exemplary coordination among the Army, the Navy and the Air Force,” Modi said.

No force in the world could prevent our soldiers from protecting our borders, he added.

“Every Indian is proud of our soldiers; no power of the world can stop them from securing our borders. India has shown it has strength and political will to give befitting reply those challenging it,” the Prime Minister.

The world now knew that India would not compromise with its interests even one bit, he said in his address to soldiers.

“The entire world feels troubled by expansionist forces, expansionism shows a distorted mindset but India trusts in the policy of understanding others, making them understand but will reply strongly if it is tested,” Modi added.

Your sacrifices taught country discipline and sense of service, the Prime Minister said.

“The more time I spend with you, the stronger is my resolve to serve and protect the country,” Modi to soldiers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the troops to innovate, practise yoga and learn an Indian language they didn’t know from colleagues. PTI
