44 more test positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal; death toll mounts to 47

Itanagar, Nov 13 (UNI) As many as 44 more people have tested positive for Covid-19

in Arunachal Pradesh, taking the state's caseload to 15701, while the fatalities toll rose

to 47 following death of a 61-year-old-man.

Out of the new positive cases, 13 cases were reported from Itanagar Capital Complex

(ICC) , seven from West Kameng and five from Changlang, as per the bulletin issued by

the state Directorate of Health Services (DHS).

Barring seven, all the cases are asymptomatic.

According to the bulletin issued by the DHS last night, a 61-year-old passed away on

Wednesday (1340 hours) at his relatives home in Deomali (Tirap district). The patient

was suffering from malignant bowel obstruction and detected Covid-19 positive through

rapid antigen test. He died due to acute respiratory failure.

While 88 patients were discharged, taking the total recoveries to 14214. Active cases

stand at 1440.

Election Commission rejects request for recounting of votes by different parties

Patna, Nov 12 (UNI) The Election Commission on Thursday rejected requests made mostly by several candidates of several political parties for a recounting of votes in Bhore, Hilsa, Matihani, Ramgarh and Dehri assembly seats for which results were announced on November 10, suggesting that allegations that were made regarding violation of election rules were found to be baseless in all the cases during their investigation.
