Haryana: Man booked for stocking, selling firecrackers despite ban in Ambala

AMBALA: The police acting on a tip-off booked a person for allegedly stocking and selling firecrackers despite a ban from a shop in Bans Bazaar at Ambala City in Haryana, on Friday.
Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Ramesh Kumar lodged a complaint against Ankit Agarwal of Khatarwara area.
A case has been registered against him under sections 5 (punishment for making or possessing explosives under suspicious circumstances), 9B (punishment for certain offences related to explosive) of the Explosives Act and 188 (disobedience) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Ambala City police station on Friday.
As per the information, Section 5 of Explosives act can attract imprisonment up to ten years and Section 9B up to three years.
ASI Ramesh said, “We have seized the crackers and further investigation is on.”
