Prime Minister Narendra Modi and America's newly elected President Joe Biden will interact with each other at mutually convenient times. The two countries have bipartisan support in the US. The remarks by the Indian State Department come days after Biden defeated incumbent President Donald Trump in a tough fight in the US presidential election.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Anurag Shrivastava said that the Prime Minister had congratulated Biden through a tweet and also appreciated the contribution of the former US Vice President in strengthening Indo-US relations.
He told that PM Modi had also said that he is keen to work with him to take Indo-US relations to new heights. Asked when the two leaders will interact with each other, he said that the future will be negotiated at a mutually convenient time. The foundation of relations between the two countries is very strong and this broad global strategic partnership between the two countries is supported by both parties in the US. He said various presidents and administrations have taken the relationship forward.
