Ahead of its launch in India, the star gives us a detailed review of the latest model of the iPhone
One of the greatest things about a new iPhone model is the definite hype around it, and celebrities are no strangers to this. Ananya Panday, like every other gen-Zer and millennial in the country, shares a close relationship with her phone (except in Panday's case, the star commands a social media following of 15 million on Instagram!) With the iPhone 12 Pro Max in her hand, the actor gives us her take on the hottest piece of tech, soon to hit the Indian markets.
Anyone who knows me well, knows that with me what you see is what you get. I usually walk out of the house without a dot of makeup on my face, wearing my personality on my sleeve, I speak from the heart and if I have to sum up who I am in one word it would be ‘unfiltered’.
For me, iPhone 12 Pro Max is just that—it delivers exactly what it promises (and more!). The minute I got my hands on it, I felt like a kid in a candy store. My parents and friends always joke that my phone is literally an extension of my arm, but why not? Especially since with this phone, I end up using the selfie camera more than a mirror!
Night Mode Portrait: I’m a total night owl! Most of my fun memories take place with spontaneous plans in the middle of the night, but the lighting is never good enough to capture any of it. But now, the Pro camera system takes low-light photography to the next level—it makes night mode portraits possible thanks to the new LiDAR scanner. And the new, massive Wide camera with a new sensor and a faster f/1.6 aperture gives an incredible improvement in low light. Night mode portraits on the wide camera give you vivid colour, as well as beautiful bokeh that accentuates lit buildings, streetlights or any background lights for that matter.
Ultra-wide lens: I love clicking pictures with my dogs but they never sit still! They’re always fighting and I can’t get both of them in the same frame ever. The ultra-wide camera with that additional 120-degree field of view is perfect for that. You can also create some really dynamic shots while capturing all the details with perfect colour rendition.
The camera: As an actor, I’ve learnt that whether you’re in the foreground or background in the scene, you will shine if you give it your all. Just like Smart HDR 3 on the iPhone 12 Pro Max will bring out all the details in the face and shadows alike, whether you’re shooting in bright light or in the middle of the day. And for the first time, you can take night mode time‑lapse videos with a tripod to capture scenes in low light with dramatic motion.
Dolby Vision recording: iPhone 12 Pro Max is the first camera ever to record in Dolby Vision and can do so at 4K resolution and at 60 FPS! So to my friends and family who I’ve annoyed all with home videos, get ready to be the stars of my home movies. The full-on cinema experience—just the way I like it.
The look: I’m a total water baby. Not just the sound of the ocean but even the deep blue colour totally relaxes me. The new iPhone 12 Pro Max comes in a gorgeous pacific blue.
