Gold chains worth around Rs 20 lakh stolen in Palghar

Palghar, Nov 13 (UNI) The Rural Police have registered a criminal complaint against an unidentified man for allegedly stealing gold chains worth around Rs 20 lakh from a jewellery shop in Wada town of the district.
The suspect on Wednesday night came to the Pooja Jewellers shop in the main bazaar area of the town on the pretext of making purchases for the Diwali festival, checked some gold chains and later asked the jeweller to show him gold rings too, police said.
When the shop-keeper turned around to fetch the rings, the suspect fled with a couple of gold chains worth around Rs 20 lakh.
The Wada police have registered an offence under section 380 (robbery) of Indian Penal Code and are on the lookout for the suspect, sources added.

Margao, Nov 13 (UNI) Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat on Friday reiterated his demand that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant must immediately release white papers on Mhadei, coal handling and transportation, three linear projects passing through wildlife sanctuaries, Covid pandemic and finances of Goa.
In a statement, he also said government must call a full-fledged Assembly Session to discuss on all the core issues which were facing opposition from across the state.
