Nitish resigns, will continue as caretaker CM till the formation of new govt

Patna, Nov 13 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today resigned and had been asked by Governor Fagu Chauhan to continue as caretaker CM till the formation of the new government.

Mr Kumar who had rushed to Rajbhawan to tender his resignation after a recommendation to dissolve 16th Bihar Assembly was made by his cabinet. Governor after accepting his resignation asked Mr Kumar to continue as caretaker CM till the formation of the new government.

Earlier, during the day, a meeting of newly elected legislators of NDA was held at the residence of Chief Minister Mr Kumar. In the meeting, the decision was taken to convene a meeting of NDA legislature party on November 15 at 12:30 PM. Mr Kumar is all set to be elected as leader of NDA and then he would stake claim to form the new government.

A list of newly elected legislators had already been submitted to Governor by the Election Commission. Besides Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, senior BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, former Chief Minister Jeetan Ram Manjhi and several other leaders of constituent parties of NDA and newly elected MLAs of NDA had attended the meeting.

were detected and 255 people recovered. In the past twenty-four hours,
211 persons (123M, 88F) from the general population and 3 personnel
