Prime Minister Modi will dedicate two Ayurvedic institutions to the nation on Ayurveda Day today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday will dedicate the Ayurveda Institutes - Ayurveda Teaching and Research Institute (ITRA) of Jamnagar in Gujarat and National Ayurved Institute (NIA) of Jaipur to the nation Friday. The Ministry of AYUSH gave this information.

According to the ministry, both the institutes are reputed institutes of Ayurveda in the country. The Institute of Ayurveda Teaching and Research at Jamnagar has been conferred the status of Institute of National Importance (INI) through the law of the Parliament while the National Institute of Ayurveda of Jaipur has been conferred the status of an honorary university by the University Grants Commission.

The Ministry of AYUSH has been celebrating Ayurveda Day every year since 2016 on the occasion of Dhanvantari Jayanti. This year it is on Friday. According to the ministry, the ITRS of Jamnagar, recently formed by the Act of Parliament, is about to emerge as a world-class health care center. It has 12 departments, three clinical laboratories, and three research laboratories.

It is also the leader in research in the field of traditional medicine, currently, 33 projects are going on here. The ITRA is built by combining four Ayurvedic institutes of the Gujarat Ayurveda University campus. It is the first institute in the field of AYUSH to be awarded INI status.
