Lone Independent to support JD(U) for new govt

Patna, Nov 13 (UNI) Newly elected lone Independent from Chakai Assembly seat Sumeet Singh today announced his support to JD(U) for the formation of next government.
Mr Singh called on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his official residence before the beginning of NDA meeting. During the meeting, Mr Singh offered to support JD(U) for the formation of the new government.
Mr Singh is the son of former Minister Narendra Singh. It was not the first occasion that Mr Singh had either contested as Independent or on a ticket of another party after being denied ticket by JD(U).
Earlier, Mr Singh was elected to Bihar assembly on Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) ticket but later he had joined the JD(U). In just concluded Bihar Assembly Elections, Mr Singh was not given the ticket by JD(U) and he had contested the election from Chakai seat as an Independent candidate and emerged victoriously.
