Stock market update: Bank stocks fall; IndusInd Bank slips nearly 2%

NEW DELHI: Bank stocks were trading on a negative note at 12:57PM (IST) on Friday.

Shares of IDFC Bank (down 2.12 per cent), Federal Bank (down 1.69 per cent), IndusInd Bank (down 1.55 per cent), HDFC Bank (down 1.29 per cent) and Bandhan Bank (down 1.21 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 0.54 per cent), Axis Bank (up 0.54 per cent) and Bank of Baroda (up 0.11 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.43 per cent down at 28155.85 around 12:57PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 13.20 points at 12677.6, while the BSE Sensex was down 55.84 points at 43301.35.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, SBI, Alok Industries and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Eicher Motors, Jubilant Food, Tata Steel (PP), Tanla Solutions and Adani Green Energy Ltd. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Sanginita Chemicals Ltd., Sagardeep Alloys Ltd., Jump Networks Ltd., Deep Energy Resources Ltd. and WABCO India Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
