Nagaland detects 23 new COVID-19 positive cases

Kohima, Nov 13 (UNI) In Nagaland, altogether 23 new COVID-19 positive cases have been detected today; with these, the total number of positive cases in the State now rose to 9638.

Nagaland Principal Secretary for Home Abhijit Sinha in an official release informed that of the new 23 COVID-19 positive cases have been detected today; these are 13 cases in Dimapur, five cases in Kohima, three cases in Phek and two cases on Mon.
The report said that a total of 81 positive patients have recovered today, out of 81 patients 78 patients from Dimapur, two patients from Mon and one patient from Kohima.

Out of the 9,638 positive cases, the total recoveries so far are 8,764. The active cases are 725 and there have been 46 deaths. As per the severity of symptoms 681 active cases are asymptomatic, 14 active cases are mild, 14 active cases are moderate on oxygen, 13 active cases are severe on oxygen, 2 active cases are critical without oxygen and 1 active case is on ventilator.

The report further informed that out of 9,638 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people includes 4,094 cases of Armed Forces and Police, 1,694 cases of Returnees, 3,379 cases of Traced Contacts and 471 cases of Frontline Workers. A total of 65,273 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and the results of 64,113 samples have been received.
In addition, a total of 34,745 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and results of 34,734 samples have been received. Through Rapid Antigen Test 5,009 samples have been tested,” it added.

Kolkata, Nov 13 (UNI) Medical condition of Soumitra Chatterjee now is extremely critical. Today in their 7.30 pm bulletin, Dr Arindam Kar from Belle Vue Clinic said, "We did the tracheostomy for him today and the situation is not that good. His condition has deteriorated. The neurological condition is worst in the entire period of his stay. Consciousness is around 5 on the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) and it has deteriorated in the last 48 hours. We did a CT Scan to find out whether there has been any problem but there has been no bleed.
